“Reading is on the threshold of the spiritual life” – Marcel Proust

I write fiction about ordinary people seeking conversion and grace; I look for the heroic and the mysterious in the everyday. My work toggles between the contemporary and the historical. I grew up in a much less digital world, and I’m always trying to reimagine that former way of being. If you’d like to dip into the 1970s, 80s, or 90s–or even the 1940s–while keeping one foot firmly in the present, I hope you’ll join me for the ride!
For the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who live faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs. George Eliot, Middlemarch
